I have always used Word and Excel.  The laptop I am considering only comes
with Works.  What is the difference - is there a compatability issue between
the two?  I do a tremendous amount of word processing and do not want
something that is going to cause problems.

As the subject says, for some reason it wont do it, I go to the folder
options in windows xp and set it to word 97 and it still opens in xp.

I am having trouble saving my work on MS Word.  When I click on 'save as' it
says that I must be logged on to Credential Manager to use this
functionality.  But I have never had to do that before.  Also Word files that
I know are in My Documents dissapear when I try and open them ...
