How do I turn on Text Boundries in Word 2007 like in 2003?

This is driving me crazy.  I have a document where I've got everything
formatted as I want it (nothing crazy, just font and size).  It contains a
mixture of regular paragraphs and outlined numbered lists.  My problem is
that when I backspace from the begining of a non-list ...

Hi Team, to compress pictures I need to show the "Format" tab, but my Office
2007 doesn't seem to have that tab, just Home|Insert|Page
Lay|Ref||Mailing|View.
I don't see how to add tabs, only quickmenu items.  Any ideas?

We have a website which contains the various .dot & .doc files for employees
to download and fill out.  But the spell checker becomes disabled when these
files are opened.  How do I set these files so spell checker does not become
disabled?

I want to put the path and filename in the footer of documents but suddenly
"insert autotext" is grey and I don't have the option of using it.
