I created a LISTNUM field in steps in my document and it seems to work great. However, when I "cut and pasted" the LISTNUM field, rather than inserting it as a field, Word inserted the step number "1" immediately following the LISTNUM field.

I realized that when I cut and pasted the LISTNUM data, Word picked up the formatting for the List Number style from the paragraph marker and created a List Number style where I pasted the LISTNUM field. This caused the new number to automatically insert itself.

Our company has upgraded to Word 2007. Now, I can't get the numbered headings to work correctly. The new menus have no resemblance to previous versions of word. Please help! This is how I'm trying to number our headings. We only need three levels.

on this Vista computer 1 user profile cannot open word 2003 documents (all other profiles can). I tried to change file association for .doc to Word or Winword but it stays on Wordpad. Also, the checkbox that says, always open with this program, is greyed out.
