When my computer was delivered it had Works 8.5 installed on it and when I
transferred my files I associated .doc files with Works Word Processor. Then
I installed Office 2007 and Word didn't take the .doc association so I used
Open With... to specify Word as the default program. ...

I have to track changes on documents I send to another firm so that
they see the changes from the original, but not sentences I typed in
then immediately backspaced while editing the documents. Normally
sentences I just typed in just go away when I delete them with track

I hope someone can help me before I go bald with rage at the lack of
intuitive behaviour in the above app.

Equation 3.0 seems to type numerals straight and alphabets in italics.
Is it possible to straighten the alphabets in an equation?

I have all the various styles displayed in Normal View on the left hand side
of my document as I set the width on the Style Area Width to 1". I used

Word XP - Can I create a custom DOT that loads automatically every time I
open Word, but does NOT alter NORMAL.DOT?

For some reason, whenever I press shift with keys on my keyboard, all these
diacritics come up such as é. Even when I press shift and e, no ctrl or
anything else. Did I activate something on my word document that I shouldn't
