I turned off my office assistant a while ago, and now can't find it or
remember how to turn it back on.  Help keeps telling me to click on the
balloon.  What balloon?  I don't see one anywhere.  I miss the little purring

I am working on documents created in earlier versions of Word.  (Office XP
would be my guess.)  I'm in compatibility mode, because not everyone has
migrated.
In the footer of these documents are codes: date, page number, page length.
