I've looked through AutoFormat, Tools and Options but
can't find where I can set a preference for two spaces
between sentences instead of one.

My PC hard drive crashed recently, and I had to reinstall
all my software.  Since doing this, whenever I use Word
2003 (with Windows XP Home), the spelling checker ignores
words with American spelling, even though I've selected

"Check grammar as you type" works fine, but when I press F7 for a fina
check of spelling and grammar, only the spelling is checked.
I never see the check-is-complete message or readibility stats (whic

I'm British, but most documents I write are in French, which  has accents
(those wierd things on top of letters that result in very variable ascii
codes and the unusable Unicode).
Like most other  English speakers (and some French colleagues...) my errors

Until recently I was working with the US English version of MS Office 2000
and MS Proofing Tools (Version 2002) to handle some other languages.
Everything worked well.
Now I am using MS Office 2003...
