In Word '97 , when I type a period (.) after the word "appointment," the period and the word are immediately deleted. Isn't that weird? It doesn't happen with any other punctuation or any other word. Got any

I am using MS Word 2000, some word file, if the size over 1 or 2 Mb, (some files only over several hundred Kb) almost 99% of cpu time is used by word. Sometimes, if uncheck the spelling check, cpu time can drop to normal, but not alway.
