I have a rather large document (6 MB) in HTML that I want to open in Word
2003.
One of the columns in this document contains the "Phonetic Code" of the item
on that row.

In Word, current language does not appear at bottom of screen (next to
spelling and grammar status).  Have set both Windows and Word default
languages to English (UK).

I had this problem a couple of years ago but can't remember how it got fixed.
Word spell-checker underlines in red past tenses ending in -ed and adverbs
ending in -ly.  In my latest doc, all the following are marked as wrong:

For reasons unknown (probably user error) MS Word 2003 started using
the French Spelling and Grammar dictionary.  All of the spelling
errors and grammer suggestions are based on the French dictionary.

When I use the spell checker in SOME documents, I keep getting a msg saying
"word cannot find msgr??32.dll / msspell3.dll / mssp232.dll for ."  .  I
have downloaded these dll's and put them in various directories (not sure
where they belong) but still keep getting the same msg. ...
