I am currently operating a Microsoft Windows 2000  Professional. Version
5.0.2195.
I don't know if you need all that information to answer my question. The
only options I have in my acessories to write word documents are notepad and

Option under Tools > Options > "Check spelling as you type" does not hold
when I close Word.  Does anyone know how I can get it to hold onto setting
after I close Word?  Additional information on where the option is, registry,

My mum is getting numbers attached to letters typed in Word. This only
occurs intermittently, and then only with certain characters - i think its
't','y' and '-', which then produce something like T6, Y5, that sort of thing.
She is unaware of turning on or off any particular ...

I am resigned to believe there is no way to remove English(US) from the
Spellchecker in Word 2003 and was hoping someone could give me a link to a
Microsoft article that states this to be true.

XP SP2 with Office 2003 SP2
The spellcheck option "Detect language automatically" isn't working anymore.
I checked the option Tools\Language\Set Language\Detect Language

I have changed all the options relating to the spell checker and it only ends
up picking up some words and phrases as being mispelled but not all.  
Whenever I intentionally mispell words in the document and perform another
spell check, it doesn't pick them up.

I recently installed proofing tools for my native language( lithuanian ).
As I undertstand dictionaries, spellers and ec.. for major languages like
english are already there.
( english speller for english lang. worked great before install ).
