Is there any way to create a picture file (JPG, GIF, BMP)
from a single font character?  For instance make a JPG
from a size 72 wingding character.

I am trying to draw simple arrows on a word document

I hate the "Drawing canvas" in Word 2002. It was a lot
easier to put a simple text box or insert a picture in
earlier versions. Can the Canvas be "turned off" or is
there a good reason to have it there?

I was working in Word 97 with a document in which I had
inserted many photographs. I printed a draft copy without
any problems.
