I have a document with a 1" left and 2" right margins. The text has a justified alignment. I want to insert a picture outside of the right margins. Is that possible?

When I open word documents that are sent as attachments with imbedded pictures, formulas, spreadsheets, etc I get boxes with a big red X and not what was inserted. Any thoughts?
