how do I add graphics to the format,borders, art menu in word?

When I type a dotted line across the page and then hit return, I get a solid
line across the page that unless I undo immediately, I can't erase.  It has
something to do with autoformatting.  How can I get rid of that line?

Hi, I am using Word 2003
I have created a simple chart using autoshapes in Word.
It consists of 10-15 shapes with connectrors and about 20 - 25 text boxes.
In addition I have added a simple table in the header and in the footer.

I want to group images so that when I click the grouped
image, the whole image opens up in another document and I
can edit it there, rather than in the document it
appears. How do I do this?

Word's system of managing figures, charts, equations and their captions is
laughable when it comes to writing technical reports.  Things that need to be
fixed:
* Figures--why is it that EVERY TIME I paste a linked Excel chart, Word
