I am preparing long documents which will primarily be viewed on screen. Is there a way to stop Word altering the page endings etc when someone with a different printer opens the document.

i am getting some strange behaviour in word when typing bullet text into multiple columns. in the second column word insists on inserting an extra carriage return after every manual one that i type so that each line is double spaced.

Is there a way to edit manually a 'completed' Table of Contents? I have generated the T-of-C and would like to add a number of notations- for instance "Part One" above Chapters One, Two and Three & etc. Is there an equivalent of converting table to text that might apply here?

When I used Word 97, I had merge documents which used Excel data, and the currency formatting carried over. Now I have 2002, and the formatting is lost. i.e. $30.00 in the excel data sheet shows as 30 in the word document.
