If I want to insert *all* the text from another .doc file into a Word 2002/XP document, is there a better way than using Insert/File? Is there a way, using fields, that is more compatible with earlier versions of Word?

I have a form to which I have attached a mail merge. When I merge to a new document, the formatting is not intact - the lines wrap and I cannot figure a way to insert the information without experiencing this problem.

Word has the annoying habit of having footnotes run onto the next page and just putting the text of a footnote on another page. Is there an easy way to keep the text of a footnote on the same page as the reference to the footnote?
