Can I tweak either Word 2000 or Word 2002 to, by default, check the box for "Automatically Update Styles" for all of the styles?

For some reason I can only insert the symbol that's first
in the symbol list. Word won't even allow me to select
any other of the many symbols. The same is true for ANY
font in the list. Help!!!

Word 2000 - Windows 2000 operating system.
The index was generated using RD field codes because the
manual is made up of several separate .doc files.  The
problem is that the index is showing page references

Fonts display differently on two otherwise very similar Windows XP

The font onscreen LOOKS bold, and so when you actually apply a bold

I have a table in a doc that shouldn't change size. Lots of people edit
copies of the doc. They change the size by adding too much text in the
table. Is there a way I can specifiy the table size so when they type too
much text into it they get an error message or their text runs out ...
