Problem with Header4 Formatting11 Dec 2003 15:54 GMT2
I have a problem with formatting the the fourth level of a heading.
The third level numbering, which is set to Outlined Numbering 1.1.1
format, works fine.
For example , I have a Heading 3 that shows 3.4.2

Multiple Manuals - shared pages and forms11 Dec 2003 08:47 GMT1
Running into a problem with forms/pages shared by three (at the moment)
manuals.  All manuals are on Word 2002/XP.
Is there a way to have a database of the one page or form and use almost a
merge to combine the final manual when republished?   Trying to not have to
Print each section separately11 Dec 2003 08:45 GMT4
I'd like to send each section of a document to the
printer as a separate job. This is because some sections
require specific printer codes. I've seen the code on the
newsgroup somewhere but now I can't find it again!
unwanted paragraph marks inserted10 Dec 2003 23:44 GMT1
I am creating a report with captions and equations that
have cross-references in the body of the text (i.e. the
words "Figure 1" hyperlink to the actual caption for
Figure 1.
"Fit text" feature trouble10 Dec 2003 23:41 GMT4

work on my desktop, though they're both Office XP.  The
Removing Pages in a long document10 Dec 2003 23:30 GMT4
I have a large document that I wish to remove particular
pages. i.e. in a 100 page document I wish to remove
specific pages 6-10, 50-55 etc. (kind of like the Page
Ranges idea in the Print option). I wish to delete the
Caption definition in document instead of normal.dot10 Dec 2003 22:18 GMT3
If you create new caption lables, Word saves them to normal.dot. This means,
that they will not be available (i.e. for cross-referencing) if you send the
document to someone else, who obviously has his own normal.dot.
Does anyone know how you can force Word to save all definitions ...
Format Painter and Acrobat 6.0 Pro10 Dec 2003 18:18 GMT1
Format Painter does not retain formatting information
when switching between open documents after upgrading
Adobe Acrobat 4.0 to 6.0 Pro.  Format Painter works fine
within the same document.
Insert AutoText permanently greyed out with Header/Footer10 Dec 2003 14:52 GMT4
My normal template had to be re-set and somehow I lost the ability to insert
AutoText into a header or footer.  All my documents have the path and
filename insert but can't do that now.  It's permanently greyed out although
I can add other inserts.
Any Suggestions when assigning Shortcut Keys to Styles in MS Word XP?10 Dec 2003 13:54 GMT2
I was wondering if anyone had any simple rule of thumb when it came to
assigning shortcut keys to styles in Word. I am creating a template
for use by others and wanted to create shortcut keys that would not
conflict other common shortcuts typically used. Is there a list
Multiple note reference marks10 Dec 2003 13:18 GMT3
When I copy and paste a reference mark it duplicates the
footnote text at the bottom of the page. I am trying to
duplicate the refernce mark, retain the rollover text and
also just have one footnote at the bottom of the page.
RD fields10 Dec 2003 09:12 GMT4
When I try to use RD fields to create TOC, Index, etc.,
more often than not I get an error message: "The document
name or path is invalid. Try one of these suggestions.

A good way to hide the page number of a chapter-starting page other than using section?10 Dec 2003 02:54 GMT2
Although the whole purpose of section is, among others, for such
occasion, I hesitate using sections when I need to hide the page
number of a chapter-starting page.
My work-around is to put an opaque text box around each page number of
TOC styles09 Dec 2003 22:22 GMT2
We have multiple people collaborating on docs - all with some knowledge of
Word - the result is a confusion of styles as docs are revised and edited.
In an effort to minimize confusion for my colleagues,  I made a template for
a project with headings named uniquely  ads_header1, ...
