Use of RD field returns error08 Mar 2004 21:53 GMT6
I'm trying to use the RD field to create a TOC that spans
several documents.  In a test case, I've created two

Tab appearing from nowhere when TOC generated08 Mar 2004 14:01 GMT3
My TOC2 style has one tab configured...a right tab at 6.25 inches.
However, when I generate the TOC, it adds an additional left tab to all TOC2
paragraphs even though no such tab is defined for the TOC2 style. (And the
style is not based on any other style.) Why is this happening?

styleref problem07 Mar 2004 00:42 GMT4
I'm using the style ref field in a header, but I'm finding it's only
displaying a portion of the paragraph that's in the desired style.  It
doesn't appear to be a particularly long paragraph, and there appears to be
more than enough room in the header, and yet the last part of the ...

The index I am creating includes entries as numbers (these are form
numbers, such as 25, 1015, 3000, etc). When I update the index the
numbers are listed under number entry. For example, 1000 will be under
the "1" heading, 3534 will be under the "3" heading, etc. I want to

How to decrease the depth of an "unruly" header06 Mar 2004 17:01 GMT3
I have a book on Word 2000. I am attempting to put the
name of the book in the header for even pages and chapter

Thanks but how to undo Master Document codes?05 Mar 2004 03:48 GMT2
Thanks very much for the information.  The recovery
features seems very fussy and complicated, and still
keeps each subdocument file as part of a master file.  Is
there a way to eliminate the master file linkages for

I am working on a text book written by two older academics who are not
really computer literate.  One is using Mac Word X, the other some older
