Thanks for the tip Chad, however some of the language is
too long to fit into Autotext.  I was wondering if there
may be some time of interactive macro I could generate
that would pull information based on criteria given by the

When I reformat captions (e.g., convert from center to
left justified), all throughout the document, figure
captions are moved from inside to outside of their
frames, and table captions suddenly move from their

I work with lawyers who have hundreds of footnotes in
their documents.  
Commonly, their footnote include references to other
footnotes (ie., cross-references actually inserted inside

Hi, I'm using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.

Chad:  I'm not sure where to put the \w.  I hit Alt F9 and

When settings tabs by clicking the ruler bar, Word
insists on putting the tab marker just before or after
the .5" marker rather than right on it. Why is that and

When I format lines into numbered list, Word says it is repaging and hang.
I can never get thing done.  This also happen when chaning some format.

I have a number of documents, each representing a different Chapter or
Appendix file.
I want to have continuous numbering between the files without having to
manually check the end of the previous file and changing the starting

I am using Word 2002 and, with long documents, find the Document Map useful
as a way to navigate between chapters.  However, a file that I am editing
has placed lines with the "Caption" style in the document map, which now
appears at the same level as Heading 1.  This has junked up ...
