I have Word 2003. I have to be doing something wrong! I
insert a photo and get it in the right position. Then I
insert a caption. This shoudl be so straightforward. I
have spent a half hour trying to get that caption under

I am using the outline feature for numbering paragraphs -
1, 2, 3, 4, etc.  But I want a line in between the
paragraphs:  Ex:

I have a document that I've created a table of contents for.  However,
some of the heading items that I need to have in the table of contents
have other words on the same line.  How can I make just certain words
on the line show up in the TOC?

Word 2003. I have a document with many a),b),c) sub-
paragraphs. I format them, save the document, and when I
reopen the document some, not all, of that formatting is
missing, and goes to no letters at all! Also, even if

Do you know in a newspaper, they have a picture and
underneath the picture is a few sentences in small type
describing the picture.  I want to do the same thing in MS

I'm using Word 2002 on Windows XP. I created a new clean template for
our docs (contains about 20 styles).
I'm missing numerous hairs on my head trying to figure out what is

One potential way to freeze Word styles would be to
include autoFormatOverride ="false" in the XML version of
a Word document. I have not been able to prevent this
attribute from being overridden. Has anyone done this

numbered headings and they also like to have their text
fully justified.

I'm trying to create blank headers and footers for different pages. In other
words, I'd like to control which pages show and print headers and footers.

I'm building what amounts to a technical manual or
procedure.
I've organized it using outline level formatting.  My TOC
is based upon this outline format.  I want to

format, others are in landscape.

Am I going to run into problems with a
Doc with 15,000 end notes? It has about 1400 pages, no sections breaks & is

I have a document that was originally 2mb in size.
When I make a few minor changes to the document and update
the index the size of the document increased to 7mb.
When I updated again it increased to 9mb.

Running Word 2003 on Win XP.
I have a heading style that has Arial 14pt Bold Italic as its font, but I'd
like to strip that out so it's whatever the Normal Style is (such that if I
change Normal, this heading also automatically changes). I can see easily
