I am using Word 2000. I am typing a memo and half way down the page I want to add columns, but when I do, it puts the whole memo in a column like a newspaper. Why??? What am I doing wrong??

In Word 2002 I can't stop a new style from being automatically defined. For example, I have a custom style CRM_VarList and if I turn on bolding, as soon as I type a letter it creates the style CRM_VarList + Bold.
