I use a lot of symbols in text (Word 2000): I insert them
by using Insert>Symbol and then selecting the desired
symbol in the grid and then pressing Insert again. Is

When in headers and footers I delete the returns to
minimize the height of them, but they don't go down (some
of them).  Is there a setting somewhere that's telling
them they have to be a certain height?
