Strange white space after headings31 Jan 2005 23:04 GMT2
In using Win XP, Word 2002, I'm getting white space after
headings 3 & 4 (I unchecked all keep lines together, widow
orphan control etc & have been using Shauna Kelly's
numbering scheme successfully for awhile) so that there is
Finding text that has backgorund shading31 Jan 2005 19:45 GMT2
I have a large document that contains almost all tables, a document that
was automatically generated. That autmatic generation created background
shafding in all the header cells of the tables.
I want to rid the tables of the background shading. I am not able to.
How save Word file in PDF format31 Jan 2005 14:41 GMT3
How do I save a word document in PDF format so that I can
email the file to companies that may not have Word
installed on their computer?  Thank you.
make all pictures "in line with text"30 Jan 2005 22:34 GMT2
I have a large Word document with hundreds of pictures.  They are all
floating objects at this time, but I would like to change that to "in
line with text."  Is there a way to quickly do this?  Selecting each
picture and changing it's layout is too time consuming.  If I try to
Copying sub-documents into a new folder29 Jan 2005 16:06 GMT3
I have a master document, with about 50 subs, with a total
page count of around 250. Each sub is a different section
of a construction specification. Each new project requires
a spec, and only about half of the total sections are ever
Document Won't Accept or Reject Changes29 Jan 2005 00:46 GMT5
I have a lengthy document that has been passed around to a couple of
different people. The document was written by one person using Word XP; he
sent it to me for editing and formatting in Word XP; I sent it off to
another person (Word XP) who enabled Track Changes/Reviewing ...
How to eliminate formatting?28 Jan 2005 23:34 GMT5
Sorry folks, but I'm still having trouble with this book.
The printer says his people cannot convert this document
to a pdf file and they don't know why.  I am guessing it
is because the book consists of so many different
Page Number Orientation28 Jan 2005 15:29 GMT1
All--
I have many landscape pages in my dissertation, but the numbering needs to
remain horizontal according to the dissertation lady.  Word dutifully puts
the number in the right cornor, but when the page is flipped up, the number
a question about captions and tables of figures28 Jan 2005 09:13 GMT2
Howdy Folks,
I am working with a document that has many figures in it. I dutifully
insert captions for each figure so that I can easily generate a table of
figures. However. In many cases, my caption is almost the full length of
Track Changes question28 Jan 2005 00:16 GMT1
I am editing a document using "Track Changes" and the reason for some of my
edits might not be obvious. I was wondering if there is a way to include a
note with a change, so that when the person "accepts" the changes it does
not also accept the notes as well?
Tables: Chopping Text27 Jan 2005 19:46 GMT2
I am using Word 2003, but the document that I am editing
may be converted from a WordPerfect document. The
problem: no matter what height I set the row height, when
cell alignment is set to the bottom, the tops of the
emf or eps - what would you recommend27 Jan 2005 18:19 GMT8
Howdy Folks,
I am writing a longish report that will contain approximately 50 figures
and several tables. The 50 figures will be maps made in ArcView GIS
software. I can export those maps as EPS or EMF files and to my eye,
Form Fields formatting27 Jan 2005 15:05 GMT2
I am using Word XP.  Is there a way to format a number form field in a
protected form differently than the formats provided in the form field
options?  I would like to format the number with a dollar sign, but without
a comma between the thousands and hundreds.
Outline Format Conversion27 Jan 2005 12:31 GMT1
I am interested in converting the dynamic formatting in word xp 2002 to
static formatting used in previous versions.  The reason I want to do this is
to allow excerpts to be taken from a document with the formatting in place.
I have not found any built in way to do this.
TOC different on different machines27 Jan 2005 10:40 GMT4
Thanks in advance for your time. I've googled through the archives and
drawn a blank, so here's my problem:
The formatting of my document's table of contents varies between my
colleague's machine and mine, even when it's regenerated.
