Suddenly my Word XP has started crashing repeatedly when I work on some long documents -- 8-15 megs.  I suspect there may be
a corruption in the template I'm using.  I don't want to recreate the template.  Is there a way to troubleshoot this without
having to recreate teh template? ...

What _IS_ this thing?  Is it the latest version of Word, as I was told,
or is it some kind of crazy subset, as in Microsoft Works?  It seems to
be more toylike than my old 97.
And why does it keep trying to re-install itself, every time I open it???

I have a message saying 'field calcualtion error in record #'  I'm
doing a very simple mailmerge from a letter template to a word table.
There are no If or Ask fields, the only other fields in my letters are
form text fields and create date field.  Can anyone yelp.
