I have next year have some probleme with word XP on mailmerge with more than 255 field , word XP crashes and is very slow. (I have referenced this bug to Microsoft) i haven't problem with word 2000 and 97.

I created a VB front end for mail merges. The mail merge issue I a having problems with is that I have two combo boxes, one pulls th month (long format, i.e January) from the database and the Year i 4-digit format.

I am using word 2000 on a P-3 800 with 256 megs of RAM and WIN 2k sp4. I do mail merges a lot and my problem is i merge 1000 records at a time and around 500 it slows to a crawl. it takes 2-3 seconds to merge one record. the

Working in Word 2003. Created a form, locked it down so no one can make changes, but it doesn't allow the document to accept merge fields into the field areas. Anyone else have this problem or know a way around it?
