I am merging from an Access phone/address database. In Access I am using an input mask to make the phone numbers look like, well, phone numbers. But when I merge them to Word, the formating (dashes and spaces) disappear.

I have made a mail merge document, between word 97 and access 97. Now we're going to update to Office 2003. So I'm testing if it works.

I am working on a web based application, which is supposed to do mail merge amongst other things. All the processing is done on the back end using Visual Basic dlls. This means that the mail merge process has to be fully automated as well.
