I would like to pick up just a specific word, e.g. the first word, from the
contents of a Word mail merge field.

I'm trying to create a mail merge in word, that produces a 6 page booklet

I've got the data and the booklets exactly as I want them, but I have a

I am using a spreadsheet as my data source.  The date field in the
spreadsheet is formatted in European date style (ie 28th feb 2005 is
