I have an Excel data file that I use as a master list for merges.  Recently,
I added a last name with an apostrophe (e.g., O'Donnell).  Word comes back
during a merge with the message, "Word could not parse your query options
into a valid SQL string."

I am using the MailMergeBeforeRecordMerge event during a merge, and I
am inspecting the data. Everything works fine until I hit a record I
don't want to merge, so I set Cancel = True and it stops the entire

I am trying to merge a word 2002 document where I actually do want blank
lines when a merge field is empty.  In older versions of word we use to have
the option to either select or not select "Don't print blank line when data
fields are empty".  In word 2002 I can't find this ...

Renamed a field in the datasource, when in the existing main document &
clicking on "insert a field" icon, the old name of the field appears. There
are macros involved in the document but I don't believe it has anything to do
with merge. Any ideas?

I have Word 2003.  I copied/pasted an Excel range into word as my data file
for a mail merge.  There are over 100 labels I am to print.
When I went through the process of the mail merge it worked...for only 1

I would like to insert a blank label so I can type a new address into it and
it will be in the correct alpha order, but I can't figure out how.  Tab does

efinitive answer. Microsoft doesn't seem to address this in their

I have a word document with mailmerge.
The data source is a msquery through system dsn (odbc)
and data are stored in sql server.
The problem is date format:
Word should allow Japanese addresses to follow the same format as.21 Apr 2005 09:11 GMT1
When I do a mail merge with Word 2003 I have formatting issues with foreign
addresses, especially Japan/Asia addresses.  Word will put the addresses in
upside down.  This is completely frustrating since I have had to do several
mail merges with domestic and oversees addresses ...
