Trying to mail merge. Excel spread sheet with some conditional formating in
certain fields. When merged the text format is lost. I found out how to set
the field format for every name merge. But it does not come across as it
looks in excel.(red or green or bold).

I have noticed that since being converted to Word XP, performing a mail
merge usually (maybe always?) produces the following dialog box:

a folder.  I have put merge fields in the various documents and have an Excel
spreadsheet for the variables .  However I have to open the data source to
effect the merge in each doc which is cumbersome.  ...

I have a spreadsheet as a data source.  The data in each field is either a Y
or N.   There could be more than one Yes for a record.

I have an application that is doing a mailmerge via OLE automation.
Seems to be very standard.  The general process is
1) create the data file.
2) open the document for mail merge.

Can I use 2 lists (exported from excel) to merge to the same Word mail-merge
document?  If so, how can this be done?
