Is there a way to force MS Word to place the field name from an Access
database instead of the data?  I have a database with 'yes/no' fields
but what I need for the mail merge is the field name.

Basically I am using VBA to merge fields. I want to know if there is a
way to validate the merge fields specified in the document and the
available merge fields specified in the datasource:

I'm trying to use Word to mailmerge data from Excel columns. I'd like
each column to form a list in Word in a single page. So far I've only
gotten it to create multiple pages, one for each Record or Excel row.

Our custom access database creates a merge file called "doc merge data" on
users' pcs. This file has no extension.
With Word 2000 or below the merge opens with a full merge toolbar.
With Word 2003 it greys the toolbar out, and using the merge wizard the file
