First time mailmerge user here.  Have managed to go through and create
a mailmerge whrough the wizard in Word 2007. Am trying to create some
labels.  It all seems fine and imports the data from an excel
spreadsheet and looks fine in the document.

Here is the problem.  I have a merge field set up like this:
{IF {MERGEFIELD PRICE}< “$15,000.00” "too cheap" "sell to customer"}
The idea is that if my "Price" field is less than $15,000, I want it to show
"too cheap".  Otherwise, I'd like the field to show "sell to customer".

I try to create a mailmerge file. So I create a connection to the data
source (xls or txt). I can save the file and everything seens to be OK.
So far so good. But if I reopen the merge file, the connection is lost.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with three columns of dates.  All three columns
are formatted in Excel exactly the same way (10-Feb-2008)
The first and third column are showing up in the Word merge document AND in

to use  numeric formatting (the field will always contain a number string).
