Anyone know how I stop the Web toolbar automatically

Hello--Whenever I open up Word 2002 my default Column
number setting is set to 2(under Format/Columns), not 1
as I would like and no matter how many times I change it
to 1, the next time I open up Word it goes back to 2.

today I can open the documents, but does not show any
