When I open word thers a gap between the top of the word window and the top of my viewing screen of about 10 mm ie I can see my desk top icons above the word window. It does not make any differnece if I maximise the window, it refuses to fill my screen. Any ideas of how i can fix ...

I am using MS Word on a 3 year old Windows ME machine. The main menu (and all menus, toolbars, buttons, etc) have disappeared (or my kids did something). When I open Word all I can do is resize the window and use the scroll bars.

Like many in the group I too turned on the Word and found the tool/menu bar missing. I have tried removing and reinstalling but no success. I have even tried a different version without success.
