I want to change the default doc when Word opens.  Right
now everytime I open Word, a letter that I don't even know
how it got there, comes up.
Please help.  Thank you

I have WinXP and Office 97.
Every now and then the Office Assistant appears with "Welcome to Microsoft
Word" and some options. I don't need it and often it won't go away for all I
tried.

In Word 2000 every time I go to open a new document it
opens in a new window.  In Excel there is an option to
turn this feature on and off, but I cannot seem to find
one in Word.  Is there such an option?  If not, is there

Everytime I open Word, a letter comes out and I want to
remove it.  I want Word to open a blank document like it
was doing from the first time I installed it.  Please help
me change the default or startup document.

Somehow, I did something which causes the pages opened from
the File Menu drop down list to show as full pages instead
of smaller boxes on top of open documents. I haven't been
able to figure out how to undo it. Does anybody know?

Can it be set that the full menu list is shown at
HOVERING over a menu bar item?

I have MS Word 2002 / Windows XP and use several custom
toolbars that do NOT include the Reviewing toolbar.  
However, 9 times out of 10 (or so), the Reviewing toolbar
will appear when I open MS Word.  I have to go in to

I want to change the default font on all my word documents
to Arial, instead of New Times Roman.  I want Arial to
appear every time I create a new document.  I know this is
not urgent, but I would appreciate a reply.

The scale for the ruler does not change even if I change
the units of measurement. I want it to read in inches.
Even after I select "inches" from the options menu, it
remains in some other scale. Thanks Elizabeth
