I am running Word 2003 on Windows XP SP2.  When I open a new document I get
the document opened with Word's "Getting Started" and 4 tool bars (Standard,
Formatting, Task Pane and PDF Maker).  I would like New Word Documents to
start with out the "Getting Started", without the PDF ...

Seem to be having issues with the Adobe menu in Word when some users open a
custom template we created that has its own custom menu.  For some the Adobe
menu disappears for others it does not function properly.  The Adobe toolbar
also has similar issues.  If they don't open the ...

How do you enable/disable custom menu items in code?
I need to be able to control this based on a userform selection for specific
submenus on a custom template menu.

Why are the buttons for the above not active in headers
and footers?

I remember working in Word and I could always look at the bottom of the screen to see the page number I was on; or the section number; etc.  It even told me what line and what character number (counting from the left).
Now the bottom of my Word documents contain no such useful ...

Can anyone tell me how to have a .5" top margin on the first page and a 1"
top margin on page 2 and after?

I have XP home and Office 97.
From recently, when I open a word document and minimise it or go to some
other non-Word documents or sites to work on, I am unable to get the Word
document back when I un-minimise it. All I have are the toolbars at the top,

I was wondering if there is a way to stop word form asking me if I'd like to
save changes to my template.  I use templates and the mail merge feature to
set up faxes.  When I open an old fax and then close it Word asks me if I'd
like to save changes to the document and if I'd like ...

When searching for a text string it seems that MSWord can only search
forward in the document.  Is there a way to get it to search back?

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the order in which most
recently used files are listed on the File menu?  The way it is now, the
first file I load becomes the second when I load another.  I'd like the
first file I load to stay #1, the second one to be #2, etc. ...

1) Something's crazy going on (for Word that's normal I guess).
A long time ago, I removed a lot of the icons/buttons up top because I don't
need them.
But for some reason, today, when I opened my documents all the icons/buttons

I'm using XP Home and MS Word 2000 on the desktop; XP Home and MS Word
XP on my laptop.  Is there a text-to-speech feature in either of them?
I'd like my computer to read Word documents to me.
