Saving my options and customization of Word to a file30 May 2005 20:40 GMT2
Does word have a special file like WP does, where all the menu customization
and options choices are saved? In the even of a hard drive crash it would be
nice to have a copy of such saved to my data drive. That would save going
through all the setup processes to get menus back to ...

My Templates & Add-ins list is spontaneously emptying out...?26 May 2005 02:32 GMT3
(I posted this to the wrong group before - I hope this is the correct one.)
I have several global templates in Startup (Word 2003). Some of which
reference a COM DLL to show various dialogs and perform tasks while I'm
working in Word. The DLL as well as the .dot files are properly ...
Bullfighter (and others?)24 May 2005 19:50 GMT3
I downloaded a Word add-in, Bullfighter (www.fightthebull.com), which I've
now discovered isn't recommended with Word 2003 because it wasn't tested.
Although the program worked, I was not enthused by it and so used the
removal tool to uninstal it. However, the Bullfighter toolbar ...

Having Trouble Saving Outlining Toolbar to Normal.dot24 May 2005 07:20 GMT1
This is a weird symptom and I'd like to ask if others can duplicate it or is
it just me!
In Word 2002, I seem to be able to add a button to the toolbar and also add
new toolbars -- in fact, ALL of them listed under customizing -- EXCEPT for
Get rid of Hyperlinks warning message21 May 2005 11:35 GMT3
In Word 2003, I have a toolbar that I've assigned hyperlinks to open
frequently used documents.  In Word 2000, I had no problem.  I clicked on
the drop down toolbar & the document would open.  Now, when I click on one
of the hyperlinks on the toolbar, the behavior is strange:

Customizing the "New File" "drop-down" button20 May 2005 05:52 GMT1
In 2003 I have replaced the generic New Blank Document button with one that
has a drop-down menu next to it.  So you can click to open a blank document,
or select the drop-down which has options of: 1) Blank Doc, 2) New HTML, or
3) Other.
Word and Adobe19 May 2005 06:02 GMT3
Using Word XP and Adobe 5.05 on a Windows XP Pro machine in a Windows 2003
domain using roaming profiles.  The problem is that the PDFmaker.dot template
does not stay in Word.  Can click on desktop shortcut (only put there for
user), it brings up Word with the PDF icons on ...

Is there a way to add a template as a global template under Templates and

Word Template Over WAN18 May 2005 15:16 GMT1
In an effort to have uniform styles between Word documents, I recently
implemented a system-wide template that was attached to all documents. This
didn't affect the LAN users. However, WAN users are experiencing a definite
slowness when opening documents. This is presumably ...
