When I exit Word 2003, changes to my toolbars and styles are not being
updated in normal.dot. That is, when I re-open Word, the changes are no
longer there.
The document template (Tools, Templates and Add-ins) is shown as Normal.

Can this be done? I've created a custom toolbar and I want to somehow put
buttons on it that will run macros assigned to that button

I have a custom toolbar for macros from my addin. After mailmerge, my
custom toolbar is only sometimes visible. If visible, the macros no longer
"work", even though the addin itself is still installed.
So, the questions are: (1) what's the trick to making a custom toolbar be
