I have a new LCD 14:9 monitor and have just installed Office 2007 on my vista using computer. In trying other display resolutions some distortions occur and the monitor is happiest with 1440:900 resolution.

User has Word 2002. We select text, click on Format | Font | Text Effects | apply an effect. Nothing happens to the text. This worked at one time. We named normal.dot and tried again but it did not fix the problem. Any other ideas?
