I am editing a Word document that already has footnotes in it. When
add a footnote now Word doesn't count correctly; the footnote I entere
should be no 10, but Word counts it (automatically) as no 5.
What can be done

In Word 2002, we have a 10 page document.  Pages 1, 2, and 3 should
not be numbered, and page 4 should be numbered as Page 1.  I inserted

I'm working on a document that I converted from PDF to Word 2000.
The main body of the document has ordinary page numbers (1, 2, etc.)
Then there are several appendices, each with their own table of
contents and page numbering (A-1, A-2, etc.).
