I have a document that has multiple chapters. I have made each chapter start with the Heading 1 style, and would like the document to have each chapter start on an odd- page, which will make it look better when printed.

I've been told not to base your Heading styles or any newly created style on the normal style in Word XP because it will mess up your outline numbering. I was even told, although I didn't see it, that this is a known issue listed on Microsoft.com. Is this valid advice?

I cannot modify the style of heading 5 as such that the numbering fits to the current chapter e.g. previous level 4 heading number was 3.2.4.5 then heading 5 starts with 1.1.1.1.1. The parameter in the window "Bullets and Numbering" is set to restart numbering and shaded in gray => ...

For the life of me, I can't figure out how Word handles legal numbering via fields. I want to set up 1.01, 1.02...2.01, 2.02, etc. How do I do this via fields?

I have a document in 2 Sections. I want each section to have different content in the footers and start numbering again with number one. I have been able to get the page numbers to start over with "1" but have not been able to get different content (text) in the 2 sections.

I've created an outline numbering scheme which emulates an unnumbered Heading 1 (with subsequent headings still being numbered) by formatting the number for Heading 1 as hidden text. All looks perfect until we get to the TOC. An extra space is being added

I have an outline heading for my Chapters, so that Style 1 creates "Chapter 1, Chapter 2 etc..."; Style 2 is linked to the first style and creates sections 1.1; 1.2; 1.3; etc..; Style 3 is linked to both the above syles
