I have a master document with subdocuments in Word 97 (SP-2a), and the
chapter numbering scheme is all messed up. It used to work fine, where it
would insert the appropriate chapter numbers based in front of all Heading
1-level text. Now, for some reason, it is inserting chapter ...

I have created a 50 page document in MS-Word 2000 on an W2k workstation.
I have a title page, contents page & intro page. I want the page numbering
to start on the actual document pages...

Is it possible to create a macro or similar that will allow the user to
toggle numbering of styles?  Like for them to be able to select if sections
should be numbered or not basically but still use the same styles for the
formatting of the headers.

I work in a law firm. We receive many external documents that need to be
modified. What I am seeing more and more is that they are using hidden
bookmarks to create a toc. We have to strip these out to coincide with our
firm's formatting.

I have a quality assurance manual that has been written at work but due to
the size of the manual we have had to create approximately 10 different word
documents.  Is there anyway in which we would be able to link the documents

In technical documentation for a civil engineering project there has to
be heading reference in footer - but level dependant.  If page includes
only Heading 2, reference in footer should be Heading 2, otherwise
reference in footer should be Heading 1.

My figure captions are not numbering correctly in a Word 2002 document.  I
am
using chapter numbers with the figure caption numbers which seems to be
working okay.  However, midway through my document the figure captions

that the doc has been changed and ackes do you want to save changes when the
