Numbering Not Working - Word 200318 Jan 2005 21:37 GMT1
Our office is switching from WordPerfect to Word, and since there is no F7
indent, I modified an outline numbered list from Bullets and Numbering so we
could have text followed by indented text. For example:
1.   asldkjt ;laksd tj;laksd tl;askj[l;tk;lkasdjtlkasj tl;asdkt

I hope you will all forgive what is certainly a totally clueless newbie
questions, but...
I am looking for a way to force Word to number from a through z and
then aa, ab, ac, etc. (instead of the default: a-z, aa, bb, cc, etc.).

Page Numbering in Word 200014 Jan 2005 16:49 GMT1
Why is it that when I auto page number a document in word, it appears
correctly on the desktop screen, but when I print it out it says, "Page 1 of
1" (next page) "Page 2 of 2" (next page) "Page 3 of 3" etc.?
How do I set page numbering in TOC using (page x of y) and section14 Jan 2005 11:04 GMT5
Per article 291283 "How to create two page-numbering schemes in one document
in Word 2002" - how do I set correct page numbering for the Table of Contents?
I was successful in using the Method 1, "Use SEQ fields", but that causes
the numbering in the TOC to start at 1 for every ...
Multiple number formats ON SAME PAGE?12 Jan 2005 12:43 GMT1
Is it possible to insert multiple page numbering schemes ON THE SAME PAGE?  I
do not mean multiple numbered sections.
I have programming documentation files that include multiple file layouts.
A typical document might be a total of 100 pages, so the footer should have
Restart Paragraph Numbering12 Jan 2005 10:39 GMT6
This has been driving me crazy for a day now. I think this is a bug in Word.
I have a style sheet in a DOT file that is used to standardize a type of
document we use. I've gotten most of the styles working.
But one style is driving me up the wall. That style is the Step style ...
Setting up a large document with outline style11 Jan 2005 22:23 GMT12
I am styling a document that is about 250 pages long.  The format is an
outline.  Only the first four levels will be included in the Table of
Contents.
The fourth level is problematic, because sometimes it's a heading (to be
Remove all autonumbering from Word 2003 Document11 Jan 2005 10:22 GMT4
We often receive the first drafts of huge documents with autonumbering
throughout.
I find that we spend a large quantity of time fighting autonumber: is there
a way to set autonumbered text to 'plain' numbering.
TOC page numbers all zero11 Jan 2005 10:20 GMT7
Using Word 97.
Every time I open this document, all of the page numbers in the TOC are set
to zero.  If I update the table, the page numbers are corrected, but if I
save, close and re-open, they are all set to zero again.
Creating and working with counters10 Jan 2005 16:31 GMT15
Howdy Word experts!
Is it possible to create and work with counters in Word (like in LaTeX,
for example)?  If it is, can someone give me some basic references for
working with counters in Word?
Numbering Copies in Watermark08 Jan 2005 22:23 GMT1
I want to print 50 copies of a document and add a watermark on each copy
giving it an individual, sequential number from 1-50.  Can I do this in one
operation without having to change the number (in the text of the watermark)
of each copy and print it individually?
numbering and styles07 Jan 2005 21:24 GMT1
I've just completely followed Shauna Kelly's clear instructions for creating
outlining styles
(http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html).
At the end of the document (4 Five other things to think about), she
Outline Numbering06 Jan 2005 22:49 GMT1
I'm trying to create a standard style sheet for use in preparing a type of

One of the styles is a Section heading that has the format:

Get rid of Heading 4 - Heading 9 in "available styles" panel06 Jan 2005 09:36 GMT3
I am creating my own .dot document.  I will never use Heading 4 -
Heading 9 styles, however I can neither delete nor hide them from
"available styles" panel.  Is this possible to do any way?  How can one
edit .dot document directly?
