I hope you will all forgive what is certainly a totally clueless newbie questions, but... I am looking for a way to force Word to number from a through z and then aa, ab, ac, etc. (instead of the default: a-z, aa, bb, cc, etc.).

I have a 10 Page Word 2000 document I would like to number the pages as follows... Numbered pages 1 throuugh 6 as 1,2...6 I would like to number the remaining pages 7a, 7b, 7c, etc.

Why is it that when I auto page number a document in word, it appears correctly on the desktop screen, but when I print it out it says, "Page 1 of 1" (next page) "Page 2 of 2" (next page) "Page 3 of 3" etc.?

Using Word 97. Every time I open this document, all of the page numbers in the TOC are set to zero. If I update the table, the page numbers are corrected, but if I save, close and re-open, they are all set to zero again.
