List and Header Numbering in XP22 Mar 2005 10:40 GMT1
With the help of MVPs, I successfully "fixed" list and header numbering

We recently upgraded to XP - and I have returned to template making

Cross-reffing multiple items from numbered list21 Mar 2005 23:11 GMT1
I'm trying to cross ref multiple citations (as in [1,2,3]) from a
numbered bibliography list with the item's number in square brackets
format. It works fine for single citations (like [1] or [2]) but as the
cross-ref field brings out the item number complete with the brackets I
Page Numbering21 Mar 2005 17:13 GMT1
How do I get page numbering to start from the 5th (say) page in a document?
If it is achieved by using Section Breaks, will having any subsequent
Section breaks "stop" the numbering?
Many Thanks for your help,
Consecutive Numbering21 Mar 2005 17:04 GMT1
I have had endless problems with Word's use of Numbering Systems.
The most frequent is when I have a series of Chapters for a document, all
numbered consecutively (i.e. Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc) as you would expect,
with Chapter 1 beginning on page 5 (say); Chapter 2 beginning on ...

Codes to number captions (with the chapter number) so that
I display "Figure 2-1" for example.
But Word is skipping numbers in one particular document
Problem creating TC fields21 Mar 2005 08:38 GMT4
As a workaround to the problem in my previous post, I tried to enter the TC
field for the missing heding by hand.  As soon as I type TC, the field
become regular text ({} and all).  I tried doing this on several locations
within the document, with the same effect.

this but get an error that it is for main document only.
Any ideas/suggestions on your to accomplish this?  I need to be able to
insert autotext entries for classification markers that use SEQ in them.
Outline view on right margin! HELP!19 Mar 2005 20:59 GMT1
Somehow my normal.dot was corrupted and I had to delete it.
Now when ever I go to outline view, everything is right justified so that
new text emanates from the right margin and that's where the (--) and the
(+)  signs are showing the outline hierarchy.

Incremental Numbering of new documents18 Mar 2005 09:35 GMT3

the template to create new documents, and then save them as new
TOC missing one entry17 Mar 2005 05:35 GMT3
I am using standard heading styles in Word XP.  Somehow the TOC is missing
one entry (the next to last).  I have tried deleting the heading text (and
adjacent lines) and re-typing it, and then making it a heading again, but it
does not work.
Page Numbering in RTF17 Mar 2005 02:34 GMT1
I've got a VB.Net application that builds a report in RTF format for viewing
in word. The report is broken down into sections, with Headers, footers etc.
I have page numbering turned on in certain sections of the report and a TOC
field definition in the report as well. My client ...
