I have a Word file, and when I am working in Print Layout view and move the

I inserted another document into my document and now it is all showing up as
part of my table of contents.
How do I highlight this text that I imported and tell it that it has NOTHING
to do with the table of contents?

I've spent most of the morning (sunny Scotland) scanning this forum and the
various FAQs and publications I've found at the end of links.
I still can't solve the problem.

I've created my template (which is a list), I've linked my comma
delimited data file, I've inserted the necessary fields into my template
and
all is fine except that I don't know how to go on to create the "next

Page numbers stay, chapter numbers disappear (in footer) when document is
reopened.
Everything was fine when saved (all page & corresponding chapter numbers
were present)

I'm composing a document in Word 2003 where I have one or more appendices
with subsections, and have defined new heading styles as follows:
Appendix A (style named "Appx", outline/numbering level 1)
A.1 (style named "AppxSub1", outline/numbering level 2)

doing something weird with the combination of using field codes to get text
from another document at the
start of a bullet list.
This results in not showing the first bullet.

Is it possible to modify the caption numbers in Word XP? I need to have
the caption labels "Table 3.1a" and "Table 3.1b" but when I replace 3.1
