If I want to have examples and theorems follow the same numbering sequence,
i.e., ex1, ex2, thm3, ex4...etc, I let them at the same level of, say
heading4 (level4). That is, heading 4 now has a number format of "ex", then

An existing style that I created (i.e. A letter list, for example, a., b.,
c., etc.) was modified by someone else.  I was successful in resetting that
style so that all of its instances throughout the document were returned to
my original specifications.  However, when I Restart ...

Force blank page with roman numerals23 Jun 2005 16:38 GMT4
I am using the field formula to force a blank page if the current page has
an even page number. The formula is the one from John McGhie's article that
uses "=MOD({page},2)" to determine if the page number is odd or even. This
worked fine in old versions of word, but in Word 2000 ...

Format captions with non-breaking space?20 Jun 2005 07:10 GMT6
Is it possible to format captions with a non-breaking space? It doesn't look
particularly good when a caption breaks across the end of a sentence e.g.
"figure" is at the end of one line, and "4" is at the other.
TIA

We are converting several file cabinets worth of large technical document

maintain them with Word instead of scissors, typewriter, and tape.
We are using Word 2003 on Windows XP Professional.
Numbered Coupons13 Jun 2005 09:40 GMT6
I'm trying to create a table of about 500 numbered coupons. All the text
