I have a manual where I would like to put a button or hyperlink at the top of each page (i.e. that is in the same position on each page) that when clicked will take you to a bookmark, e.g. an Index or Table of Contents.

For the purposes of diagrams, you may want to use incrementing numbers throughout your document. I did not have an easy time finding how to do this on the web, so I will add instructions here for indexing search purposes.

I've just finished a draft of a book. Each chapter is nicely organized with numbered headings (down to level 3) and with the proper Header 1 chapter headings. I did this the way I always did it -- the way I learned from MVP Shawna Kelly. Now I need to get the separate chapters ...

My document have one TOC and two table of figures each one for tables and figures. When i update entire table in TOC, the formatting doesnot lose away, but when i update entire table for figures the formatting get losts.

I'm using Word 2003. I understand from MVP site that to get a robust outline numbering scheme, that H1 style should have the outline numbering set up for it and that other Heading (H2,3,4 etc) should be based on H1 style(& its numbering).
