I have used the procedure named SetUpNumberedLists() and found on Margaret Aldis's website. After copying the procedure's body from the web and paste it "as is" in a new template project Module, I have run it and the results were great.

On my home computer in numbered lists beginning at, say, 1, when I go to the next line I get 2, which is expected. Hitting the TAB key, however, doesn't advance to the next level, "a." 2 stays in place and an extra tab marker goes in instead. Oddly, my office computer DOES ...

Well I read the MVP numbering site and thought I was doing this right, but apparently not. I have a document that must be numbered by chapter-section-page. It's not my choice and I can't change it. For numbering I used heading styles 1-3.
