A new feature of Word 2003 is the ability to break a sentence so that the first few words (that belong in the TOC) are Heading 1 and the remainder of the paragraph is a different style (that does not appear in the TOC). What is the name of the feature? How do I invoke it? ...

I want to link "List Bullet" to level1, "List Bullet 2" to level 2, etc. by selecting the appropriate style under Modify-Format-Numbering-Outline Numbered tab-Customize-Link level to style.

I am writing some UML use cases in Word 2003 SP2 and it has turned into a real nightmare. I am sick to my stomach with pure disgust and hatred for how numbered lists work in Word and am about to abandon it completely and opt for Notepad.

I have a Word document (under Windows XP) with the first couple of pages having numbering in roman (i, ii, iii etc) and the remainder restarting in arabic (1, 2, 3, 4 etc). This is fine but the table of contents only shows arabic - help!

I would like to have smart quotes within a number style but the quotes remain straight quotes - even if I search and replace for smart quotes. It would look like this: Exhibit "A" but the quotes would be smart instead of straight.
