Folks, I want to make a doc start with a cover page that has no footer. Odd/even footers should start on the second page and number ii, iii, etc. The body of the doc starts on the seventh page where page numbers

Hi, for the beginning of my document, I wanted to use i, ii, iii, iv as page numbers. No problem. But when I update Table of Contents - it changes numbers to I, II, III and IV. Help! Thanks!

I'm just polishing off a document & the table numbering has gone crazy. I had to insert a section break mid chapter, to allow some A3 landscape pages (instead of the normal A4 portrait) but unfortunately the captions after this now say "Table 1-4" instead of "Table 4-4"

MS Word 2003 is once again printing my footers with page 1 of 1, page 2 of 2, page 3 of 3, page 4 of 4, page 5 of 5... The correct page numbers appear on my screen and they are also printed in my table of contents.

I've read every article I can including McGhie's "Word's numbering explained" but while I can find myriad things I should NOT do, I'm not certain what I SHOULD do to properly set up all of the numbering needed in my lengthy document (a technical manual).
