Need two styles for same level of outline numbering31 Mar 2008 12:17 GMT1
I've been masochistic enough to work through the outline numbering FAQs, and
Shauna Kelly's excellent tutorial. I've successfully organised my entire
Heading 1 through Heading 9.  However, I need also to have a paragraph style
(not to appear in the TOC) but which is numbered in ...
Unable to customize outline levels28 Mar 2008 12:07 GMT3
Using Word 2007
Problem: The outline level control in the paragraph dialog is greyed out for
all the heading styles, so I cannot customize them.
Example: Heading 1, style type paragraph, based on "normal". Outline level
Word 2003 and Excel formatting27 Mar 2008 17:40 GMT1
I'm creating an Excel-based order form.  I'm trying to copy and paste a
2-page word document (contract text) into 2 contiguous worksheets in Excel.
The first page comes over fine.  However, when I copy and paste the second
page, the numbering reverts back to 1 (instead of the 5 ...
footnotes27 Mar 2008 17:27 GMT1
I use the Windows 2003 to write-up long texts with many foot notes.
In the last days at any text, after a certain amount of notes, the system
does not work. The number of a  certain footnote is repeated on the text (
the first error) without place to write the foot note below ( ...
Newbie question: Numbering and sections25 Mar 2008 15:42 GMT4
I'm not new to word but rarely have the opportunity to get into
formatting issues.
I've looked at a number of articles about this. Basically it's a
simple problem, I'm sure.
Open bracket before a numbered heading?14 Mar 2008 11:57 GMT2
In Word 2003, how do you get an open bracket before a numbered heading? I
tried using an advance field code to move the bracket to the left, but the
whole paragraph also moved to the left?  What I'm trying to achieve should
look as follows:  (law firms frequently use this)
Character style of list bullet text (2003)13 Mar 2008 11:26 GMT6
I know list bullets have been discussed to no end and I've read through the
MVP sites (Shauna Kelly etc) but still have this one remaining issue.
I would like my List Bullet style to take on the character style of the the
current paragraph.  For example, if my Normal font is New ...
section-page number starts at 2-1, not 1-112 Mar 2008 22:36 GMT1
Using outline levels with Headings 1,2, insert page number in footer, define
number format to include section, with result intended: sec#-page#.
It works, except: first section with Heading 1 is numbered 2-1, 2-2 and so
on. Next section with Heading 1 is also numbered 2-1, 2-2, ...

I'm using Word 2003 and have a template for a large document.  At template
stage there is a cover page (actual page 1), a second cover page (actual page
2), a TOC (actual page 3) all in Section 1.  No page numbering is required on
these pages.  Currently the actual fourth page is ...
Getting a Style to Start at 1 Again - Word 200706 Mar 2008 14:43 GMT7
Hello. I'm using Word 2007. I had a custom list numbering style I've
used extensively in a fairly large (151 page) document.
The style itself somehow got changed so the style starts at 5: The
format description includes the words "Start at: 5" -- which actually
Lost numbering between Word 2000 and Word 200303 Mar 2008 13:52 GMT1
I have several contracts which work fine in Word 2000 on a Windows 98
machines but as soon as I open the documents in Word 2003 on an XP machine
almost all the numbering has been lost.
This problem has just started (i.e. it used to work ok) so I figure I must
Autocorrect options do not stay same in template02 Mar 2008 07:57 GMT1

documents based on that template and see that every
