I'm not new to numbering issues and can usually get my list number issues correct. But I'm getting an effect that I don't know how to prevent. I know that a list template is defined for the top style in the hierarchy. But let's say I want to change a detail-- what I wanted today was ...

| Page numbering and duplex printing | 17 Jun 2009 17:29 GMT | 1 |
I'm manually duplexing to print pages (Word 2003 and 2002) . It would be nice (I'm old-fashioned) for the page number to appear at the bottom outer margin for either recto or verso pages, with each chapter starting on a recto page. Like a published book.

| Numbered lists with different characteristics in same file? | 05 Jun 2009 17:38 GMT | 1 |
Among the difficulties of Word numbering, the most hard-core might be that there is only one hierarchy of List Number styles. I need several types of numbering in the same document. For example, in one kind I'd like to make the top List Number style appear in the TOC, but not in ...

I used to know how to do this in 2003, but forgot. Now that I've upgraded to 2007, I'm truly lost. I want to create a reference list (as in books) that are number and be able to reference them in the body of the document. The reference

| help requested - Multilevel list woes | 03 Jun 2009 23:02 GMT | 7 |
I'll start by saying I finally had it figured out using Office XP (2003?). Now I've migrated to 2007 and it's killing me. I have a document that migrated up that worked fine. In 2007 I noticed that the numbering for levels 2 and 3 were not Bold as were

| Override Built-in Numbered Style (Word 2003) | 01 Jun 2009 12:38 GMT | 1 |
I'm wondering if anyone can help. I'm sure at one point I came across an article about re-defining the built-in Numbered style. So, when you wanted the users to click on the 123 button in the toolbar, you get your custom Numbered list, rather than Words version. I have tried ...
